Hi, I’m Johann Smari, a fine-art location photographer based in Iceland. I have lived here for most of my life and know the country, its landscapes and Reykjavík very well. Over the years, I have studied and practised many different styles of photography, but what I enjoy most is photographing people in Iceland’s unique landscapes and in carefully chosen locations around Reykjavík. I am always looking for that perfect image, so it is important to me to capture the right moment between you, your partner or your family and the surroundings. I pay close attention to the light, composition and background, making sure that you fit naturally into the scene. During a one-hour photo session, I may take more than a hundred photographs. Afterwards, I carefully select the best 20–30 images and professionally edit them in Adobe Lightroom before delivering them to you. My goal is simple: to create beautiful, natural photographs that you will be genuinely happy with and enjoy for many years to come.
