The Viking film set
A timber Viking village built for a film that was never finished, standing on the sand under the mountain — an optional second scene on the same private land.
Über The Viking film set
Route anzeigenA few minutes from the beach, on the same track past the Viking Café, stands a full-size Viking village: turf-roofed timber halls built as a film set, left standing when the production fell through, and now weathering into something that looks genuinely old. It is the one built structure on this whole headland, and it gives a session a completely different register — doorways, beams and shadow instead of open sand.
Use it for the in-between frames: a couple in a doorway with the mountain behind, close work in the shade of a hall, shelter when the wind on the beach becomes unworkable. The wood is dark, so faces need to be turned toward the open side of a doorway; midday light that ruins the beach works well here, where the buildings do the shading.
Check the current arrangement at the café when you pay for entry — access to the set has been included, ticketed separately and occasionally closed at different times, and the buildings are timber that has been standing outdoors for years, so treat floors and steps as unsound rather than as a stage.

Tipps
Turn faces toward the open side of a doorway — the timber is very dark. Ask at the café what access to the set currently costs.
